Course Description

Discover how to successfully implement and bill the new caregiver training CPT codes (97550–97552) in this essential course for occupational therapy practitioners. Learn how these codes empower clinicians to deliver individualized, reimbursable education to unpaid caregivers—without the patient present—ultimately improving carryover, client outcomes, and caregiver confidence.

Presenters walk you through real-life case examples across adult and pediatric settings, documentation tips, payer considerations, and the advocacy journey that brought these codes to life. Whether you’re new to the codes or ready to deepen your understanding, this course will equip you with the tools to support families and strengthen your practice.

Davis Carmack

My name is Davis Carmack. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology then went on to get a doctorate degree in occupational therapy. I am so passionate about occupational therapy because I get to be a professional problem solver and play all day! I love to work with families to understand and identify supports and strategies based on each child’s individual differences. My specific areas of interest are sensory processing, emotional regulation, executive functioning, social participation, gross and fine motor development. I focus on a developmental, holistic, family-centered approach to create a specific and individualized  treatment plan. My ultimate goal is to support your child and family no matter where you are. I will be offering individual occupational therapy services and kids yoga classes.

When I’m not working, you might find my husband and I spoiling our pets. We have two cats Pumpkin and Casper and a big puppy named Hazelnut. If I’m not at home with my family, you might find me taking or teaching a yoga class.
