Incorporating Policy and Advocacy into OT/OTA Programs

At Amplify OT we strongly believe in increasing access to and understanding of policy and advocacy for OT and OTA students.

That is why we created a student version of our membership that provides affordable price points for universities and students to access our virtual and dynamic policy lessons. Now used by 12+ universities.

Think of it like a textbook, except you can access it anywhere, the lessons are videos, and students will actually use it.

Here’s an abbriged version of our lesson about health insurance:

Students like the engaging format that they can watch or listen to as a podcast.

We have made extensive efforts to ensure the content is accessible as possibly by:

  • minimizing the use of images,
  • verbally describing any graphics in the video,
  • including transcripts in a typical and dyslexia friendly font
  • providing handouts with pre-taken notes and resource links
  • providing empty worksheets for those who work best taking notes while listening
  • screen reader friendly website

We also include additional resources for faculty such as:

  • ACOTE Alignment tables
  • Learning objectives
  • Lesson outlines and times
  • Faculty Resource Book
  • Support from Clarice Grote
  • Auto-grading multiple choice quizzes
  • Student completion and grade reports
  • and more!
