Thoughts on breast cancer & lymphedema rehabilitation?
1. With the extensive training and knowledge of psychosocial care, problem solving and attention to the whole person an OT, in my opinion, is generally better trained to treat a breast cancer/lymphedema patient.

I agree that OT has a huge role in breast cancer and lymphedema. In fact at my former hospital, our entire lymphedema department was run by OT.
Would you be looking for an AOTA certification to replace the companies that current credential someone to be a CLT or would this be to show an additional specialty? Do we need a certification…

That was one avenue, but honestly, I think it’s up to the advanced degrees with additional specialty clinical affiliation for specialty degree. This would have no impact on the CLT cert programs, but may help OT’s change the rigidity of Lymphedema and post bc surgery care.
